An unexpected delay has been announced for 007 First Light, a highly anticipated game developed by IO Interactive, the studio behind the successful Hitman series. The studio officially announced today that the release date for the game, which will allow us to delve into the roots of Agent 007, has been pushed back by two months. Originally scheduled for release in March, the game has been shifted to May due to the schedule change.

According to information shared by IO Interactive management, the new release date is May 27, 2026. This two-month deviation from the initially targeted March 27, 2026, is attributed to the studio’s desire to maintain quality standards. The game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, as well as on PC via both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Most notably, the game will also be released on Nintendo’s next-generation console, the Switch 2, on the same day.
In their message, the development team describes 007 First Light as their most ambitious project to date. IO Interactive stated that they want to offer players an unforgettable James Bond experience filled with breathtaking action scenes, global espionage operations, and iconic car chases, and therefore don’t want to rush the release.
