Huawei, continuing its efforts under the shadow of sanctions, is working to diversify its product range. Last week, the Chinese manufacturer introduced the Mate 60 Pro model to users, which is its first 5G phone after the sanctions. Following this device, today, Huawei introduced the Mate X5, a competitor to the Galaxy Z Fold 5. So, what does the foldable phone offer?
Huawei Mate X5 specs
The Huawei Mate X5 features a cover display with a 6.4-inch 2504 x 1080 pixel Full HD+ resolution with a touch sampling rate of up to 300Hz. The internal panel of the foldable phone is 7.85 inches in size with a resolution of 2496 x 2224 and can achieve a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz. Both screens support a 120Hz refresh rate and utilize AMOLED LTPO technology.
Powering the device is the Kirin 9000s processor. The Kirin 9000s is manufactured using a 5nm process and includes 1x 2.62 GHz, 3x 2.15 GHz, and 4x 1.53 GHz cores, along with the Mali-G78 GPU. It is expected that the smartphone supports 5G, although there is no clear statement from the company at the moment.
On the front of the Mate X5, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The rear camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor with OIS support. Like the Mate 60 series, this device runs on Harmony OS 4.0 out of the box. It comes with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
The smartphone is powered by a 5,060mAh battery that supports 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Other features of the Mate X5 include dual SIM support, an NM card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, 2D face unlock, USB 3.1 Gen 1, dual-mode satellite connectivity, and an IPX8 water resistance rating. When folded, the device measures 156.9 x 72.4 x 11.08 mm, and when unfolded, it measures 156.9 x 141.5 x 5.3 mm. Finally, the device weighs approximately 245 grams.
The Huawei Mate X5 comes in two versions: 12 GB RAM + 512 GB and 16 GB RAM + 512 GB. It is available in black, white, gold, green, and purple color options. The purple and green variants have a flat leather back, while the other color variants have a glass back.
