iQOO, which started its activities as a subsidiary of Vivo in 2019 but currently operates independently, is soon set to unveil its new phones with the upcoming iQOO 12 series. What features can we expect from these devices?

What will the iQOO 12 series offer users?

According to information from sources close to the company, the upcoming iQOO 12 series is likely to feature a 2K Samsung E7 AMOLED display specially designed with eye protection features for esports users. Additionally, it is expected that the phones will support a 144 Hz refresh rate and an under-display fingerprint sensor.

The models will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The processor is expected to have a significant performance boost, featuring a Cortex-X4 core with a clock speed of 3.7 GHz. There are anticipated to be important changes in the core architecture of the hardware.

The current latest chipset in use, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, features Cortex-X3 architecture and operates at 3.2 GHz. This implies a direct impact on daily performance. The new processor is expected to adopt a 1+5+2 architecture, consisting of one “super-large” core, five “large” cores, and two “small” cores.

The iQOO 12 series will have a metal build and support 200W fast charging. Furthermore, they will be available with storage options ranging from 24 GB of RAM to 512 GB to 1 TB using UFS 4.0 technology. The devices will also include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C 3.x port, and a primary camera with a 50-megapixel OV50H sensor.

Expected to be unveiled in December, the iQOO 12 series is anticipated to run the Android 14-based Origin OS 4.0 interface right out of the box.
