There are two months left to the long-awaited Apple event. The launch could have been delayed because of the Covid-19 and the chip crisis. That’s why its date was unknown until now. But luckily, it didn’t. Also, we know which devices will come this year. Along with some surprises, of course. Here are the release date of the iPhone 14 series and all the expected features …
iPhone 14 series release date and specs!
Apple will introduce four new iPhone models at the event. Some name changes, new features, and designs are waiting for us. September 6 was thought to be the release date of the iPhone 14 series. However, since Labor Day in the USA falls on September 5, this date doesn’t seem possible. For this reason, the event date has been determined to be September 13.
Dates of iPhone events in past:
- iPhone 13 : September 23, 2021
- iPhone 12 : October 23, 2020
- iPhone 11 : September 20, 2019
- iPhone XS : September 21, 2018

iPhone 14, Pro, Plus and Pro Plus specs and design
This year, a surprise awaits us with the iPhone 14 series. Therefore let’s check out the models we will encounter before we examine the leaks and confirmed features for the new devices because an old friend is back after five years.
Apple will come up with four new models this year. But unlike the previous years, a large-size version will certainly come instead of the mini (we can see it as the new iPhone SE on March 2023). The name was expected to be iPhone 14, Max. Although it is the same as the Pro Max in size, it will be much similar to the 14 on the processor, camera, and display.
But according to the latest news, Apple wants the Max to be exclusive to Pro models. For this reason, they will bring back the Plus name, which appeared in the 8th generation 5 years ago. Therefore, the new series will be the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The Pro models will stand out this year when we look at the design. Because now, instead of the iconic notch on the front, there will be a hole for the camera and a second pill-shaped hole for Face ID. We can roughly compare it to Huawei’s Mate 40 Pro design. Of course, it will be positioned in the middle.
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models will come with the iPhone 13’s notch, which has been reduced by 30 percent compared to the iPhone 12. In addition, the displays to be used will also be different. First of all, the screen bezels will be considerably thinner.
Another factor about the display is Hz values. Apple has been deeply affected by the chip crisis. For this reason, only the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models will come with a 120 Hz display. Therefore, the screen refresh rate of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus can remain at 60 Hz, as in the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini.
In the processor, things are a bit complicated. Assuming the leaks are real, Apple will keep the Pro models separate from the rest of the lineup. Allegedly, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models will use the new A16 Bionic processor. Unfortunately, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models will use the A15 Bionic processor used in the iPhone 13 series.
But according to another claim, the X-series chips used in tablets (before the M-series) may return. In this case, a new processor called A15X Bionic may come. So iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus will use A15 or A15X.
Coming to the most important issue, what are the camera improvements? In the iPhone 13 model, Apple has enlarged both the lenses and the size of the sensor inside compared to the iPhone 12. This year, we expect to see 48 Megapixel cameras instead of 12 Megapixels. Because design and registration activities emerged a while ago, the sensor size may also increase slightly.
