Google released Gmail with a new redesign to everyone. The company has been working on the new layout since February. Today, Google announced that Gmail’s new Material Design 3-inspired theme is now available to all users. Let’s check all the details.
Gmail’s new integrated design with Chat, Spaces, and Meet apps
Gmail has changed many times in the 18 years since it was released. And Google announced its all-new design with new features. Gmail has integrated with some Google services such as Chat, Spaces, and Meet.
However, this is not the last update by Google. Later this year, we will probably see improvements on Gmail for tablet users, better emoji support, more accessibility features, and other new upgrades. Indeed, you should know about this update because Google introduced it in a public preview.
If you already use the mail application for work, Google may have launched Gmail’s new redesign to your account. There is an option to get the old look again for users who don’t want to use the new design. Google allows users to switch back to the old look with this option for now. You can still get the latest design if you don’t have the Chat section. You can disable it when you don’t like using the new one. Here is how to switch back to the old Gmail design:
- At the top right, click Settings.
- Under Quick Settings, click Go back to the original Gmail view.
- In the new windows, click Reload.
According to Google’s instructions, this is the easiest and the only way. You can change the look by doing them one by one.
Mail, Meet, Spaces, and Chat buttons are on the top left with this update. You can easily access them with the new redesign. Additionally, Google is still working on the tablet version of the new design. The company will release it with new better features soon.
