TrueCaller will expand its caller identification services
One of the first steps of the company might be expanding its caller identification services for messaging apps such as WhatsApp. According to the announcements, the brand is planning to expand the services to help users identify fake or spam calls they receive on the popular messaging app, WhatsApp.
While TrueCaller is improving its services, the new step will take them further, and it will be available for more users around the world. Especially, users will get rid of spam calls on WhatsApp. Here is the official announcement made by the company’s CEO, Alan Mamedi:
“There has been a recent surge in user reports from India regarding spam calls over WhatsApp. The shift by telemarketers to internet calling is a relatively new trend in the market. This indicates that the problem of spam calls is not only limited to traditional telephone networks but has now spread to internet-based communication platforms as well.”
How to use TrueCaller SMS identification on iPhone
Since the service is not available on messaging apps for now, you need to wait a bit more. However, you can enable the SMS and calls filtering on your iPhone by following these steps:
- Open the TrueCaller on your iPhone,
- Go to iPhone Settings, then Messages,
- Click on the Unknown & Spam option,
- Turn the toggle on for Filter Unknown Sender,
- Choose the TrueCaller, Tap enable.
