Microsoft released Windows 11 towards the end of 2021. However, it received criticism from users due to several bugs and issues. The company has since resolved many of these problems and has started working on new features in recent months. The latest development is Microsoft working on a new File Explorer for Windows 11.
Here’s the redesigned Windows 11 File Explorer!
Microsoft has already updated some applications in Windows 11, such as Notepad and Task Manager. The next target for the company is to refresh the File Explorer. Since the release of Windows 8, this application has not received a significant update. The appearance of the revamped File Explorer is as follows:
When looking at the new interface, as you can see, it now features a tabbed interface similar to a web browser. Additionally, the left-side menu, address bar, and search box have received a more modern design.
The address bar has gained a new function. You can now search for files in OneDrive through it. This means that when you search for a file, it will search both on your computer and in the cloud, and the results will be listed.
Furthermore, when examining the revamped File Explorer, we can see the addition of a section called “Recommended.” According to the information provided, this section will display frequently opened files. When you hover over a file, its visual will enlarge. This allows for quick access without the need to open it. These are the known details about the revamped File Explorer for now.
Dynamic Lighting feature
In addition to the revamped File Explorer, Microsoft has also started testing the Dynamic Lighting feature. This feature allows you to change the RGB lighting of devices that use the HID LampArray standard.
In other words, you will be able to easily adjust the lighting of your keyboard and mouse through Settings on your computer. This eliminates the need to download an additional driver. Currently, products from certain brands such as Razer, Logitech, ASUS, and Acer support the Dynamic Lighting feature. Microsoft plans to collaborate with more brands in the near future.
The revamped File Explorer and Dynamic Lighting feature are currently available to Windows 11 test users. They are expected to be released to everyone soon.
