Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, the popular pirate sailing game of the Assassin’s Creed series, may be coming again. Ubisoft, which said a while ago that it wants to return to the roots of the series with Mirage, plans to rework the maritime theme with the Black Flag remake.
How will Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag remake be?
There are rumours that Ubisoft is working on Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag remake. Some anonymous sources who said they received information from the company stated that the remake project is still in its early stages. It was reported that it will be run by the Ubisoft Singapore studio.
Ubisoft has not made an official comment on these speculations. However, considering that it is already working on a game like Skull and Bones, which focuses on the pirate sailing theme, it seems like an interesting decision. However, it may also want to utilise the popularity of the Assassin’s Creed series.
Black Flag remake is thought to be developed by preserving the story of the original game. Ubisoft, which will make changes especially in ship and climbing mechanics, may also offer more customisation options to players.
The redevelopment of Assasins’s Creed 4 may also serve as a market research for Skull and Bones. By developing Skull and Bones as a big-budget game, Ubisoft can gauge players’ reaction to pirate sailing with the Black Flag remake. Skull and Bones is expected to be released at the end of 2023.
On the other hand, let us remind you that Ubisoft is working on three new Assassins’s Creed games. In addition to Assassin’s Creed Mirage, one game will be released for VR glasses and the other for the mobile market.
