One of the reasons for the rapid growth in the world of smartphones, where competition is at a high level, can be attributed to the advancements in processors. MediaTek, one of the key players in the processor industry, continues to produce processors not only for flagship models but also for mid-range and entry-level phones. The company has introduced the Dimensity 6100+ processor, which is expected to draw attention with its performance.
The Dimensity 6100+ has undergone a 6nm-based manufacturing process
MediaTek has added a more powerful player to the Dimensity 6000 series, which is close to the mid-range. The Dimensity 6100+ features an octa-core architecture based on a 6nm manufacturing process, with 2x Cortex-A76 large cores and 6x Cortex-A55 power-efficient cores. The processor supports 108-megapixel camera sensors and offers video recording up to 2K 30 FPS.
With the aim of providing 20% faster downstream speeds compared to processors in the same class found in competitors, the processor utilizes a 5G modem. It also supports displays with 10-bit color depth, one billion colors, and a refresh rate ranging from 90 Hz to 120 Hz. MediaTek stated that phones powered by the Dimensity 6100+ will be available for sale in the third quarter of 2023.
