New leaks about Grand Theft Auto 6 seem to be shocking the gaming community. Some time ago it was revealed that the game would have a budget of between $1 billion and $2 billion. While Rockstar Games and its parent company Take-Two Interactive have not denied these claims, the new leak “confirms” that the budget is $2 billion.
According to the claim shared on Twitter, GTA 6 has been in development since 2014 and $2 billion has been spent on its production. This means that GTA 6 will be the most expensive entertainment product in history, surpassing even blockbuster movies.

As the excitement for GTA 6 grows in the gaming community, many are sceptical about the $2 billion budget claim. Many gamers feel that $2 billion is an exorbitant amount of money to spend on a single production.
To put that in perspective, the most expensive game in history is the yet-to-be-released Star Citizen, with a budget of $415 million. On the film side, the most expensive film was Star Wars: The Force Awakens, with a budget of $447 million.
It is rumoured that Rockstar will pass this cost on to the price of the game. While today’s big budget productions sell for $70, it is claimed that GTA 6 could cost more than $100.
Also, most leaks suggest that the game will be announced between April 2024 and April 2025.
