Apple is experiencing very rapid growth in iPhone sales. The iPhone 13, which debuted in 2021, is still attracting attention with its sales success. However, it should not be overlooked that the iPhone 14 also grew in the last quarter. Reports from India show that iPhone shipments in the country increased by 70 percent.
iPhone 13 became the best-selling iPhone in India in Q2 2023
According to a new report published by CyberMedia Research, Apple’s strong performance in India marks the second quarter of the year. The tech giant saw a 70 percent increase in iPhone shipments thanks to demand for both new and older iPhone models.
It was noted that the sales were mainly from the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series. The iPhone 13 series, which was launched in 2021, stood out as the most popular iPhone model in India with a 52 percent market share. Close behind was the iPhone 14, which accounted for 45 percent of iPhone shipments.
The discounted prices of older-generation devices such as the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 did not escape the attention of users. According to the report, these models accounted for 3 percent of the company’s shipments to India in 2023.
On the tablet side, the relatively affordable 9th generation iPad stands out. It managed to become the best-selling model with 42 percent market share. The M1 iPad Air and iPad Pro were also successful.
The success of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 also helped overall smartphone shipments. Researchers estimate that Apple will capture about 7 percent of the Indian smartphone market this year, up from 4 percent in 2022. Earlier reports suggested that the iPhone 15 series might be delayed.
