Samsung, continuing its efforts in the foldable phone market, unveiled the highly-anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 5 model at today’s Galaxy Unpacked event amidst rumors and leaks. So, what does the South Korean manufacturer offer users with its new foldable phone? Here are the Galaxy Z Fold 5 features!
Galaxy Z Fold 5 features
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 doesn’t promise a lot of innovations in terms of design compared to its predecessor. While it is slightly thinner than previous models, it is still relatively thick when folded, resembling regular smartphones. However, there have been some improvements in the hinge design.
The device boasts a 7.56-inch primary display with Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology, providing a 120 Hz refresh rate and an under-display selfie camera.
On the outside, the smartphone adopts Infinity O technology for its secondary display. The 6.2-inch panel offers a resolution of 2316 x 904 pixels and a pixel density of 374 PPI, also featuring a 120 Hz refresh rate. The camera is placed under the display as well.
Powering the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The chipset, built on a 4 nm architecture, includes 1x 3.36 GHz ARM Cortex-X3, 2x 2.8 GHz ARM Cortex-A710, 2x 2.8 GHz ARM Cortex-A715, and 3x 2.0 GHz ARM Cortex-A510 cores, along with an Adreno graphics unit.
The camera setup offers multiple resolutions, with the device featuring a triple-camera arrangement of 50 megapixels, 12 megapixels (ultra-wide), and 10 megapixels (telephoto).
With the new model, the device gains support for UFS 4.0 and includes connectivity features like Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3. It also offers 12 GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256 GB to 512 GB to 1 TB.
