Red Dead Redemption, one of the world’s most popular games, was released for console platforms in 2010. Although not as popular as before, the game still retains its popularity, and now its Remastered version has been spotted on Rockstar Games’ website. Here are the details!
Red Dead Redemption Remastered is coming!
Ranked among the best narrative-driven games, Red Dead Redemption is set in the Wild West of 1911, along the border of the United States and Mexico. Players take on the role of John Marston, a former outlaw, and follow his struggle to capture his former gang members.
Recently, it was revealed that Rockstar Games has been developing a Remastered version of Red Dead Redemption. The basis for this rumor was the listing of a different Red Dead Redemption on South Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) website, separate from the 2010 release.
This exciting news had gamers eagerly anticipating, and now, today, Rockstar Games has made a change to the Games page on their official website. They added a new logo for the currently displayed Red Dead Redemption game and included a codename, “RDR1RSP.”
It is believed that the first three letters of the codename stand for Red Dead Redemption, followed by the letter “R” representing “Remastered.” This website update and codename have strengthened the claims of an upcoming RDR Remastered.
Currently playable on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, Red Dead Redemption, along with its Remastered version, could also be released on the PC platform. Of course, the opposite possibility cannot be ruled out.
A recent rumor suggested that the game would be announced in August 2023. Red Dead Redemption Remastered might cause a delay for Rockstar Games’ long-developed Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6, a leaked game that reportedly received a budget of 2 billion dollars and is likely to stay in development for a while longer.
On the other hand, Rockstar Games released Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition in 2021, containing Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. However, the company faced criticism from players due to various issues. Whether Rockstar Games has learned from this and applies the lessons to RDR Remastered remains to be seen.
