Dark mode only: Twitter’s new direction according to Elon Musk
Elon Musk, who announced significant changes on Twitter in recent weeks, has accelerated his efforts for the new social media platform. Twitter, which is undergoing a rebranding process under the name X, will only serve users with a dark mode.
Elon Musk: “Twitter will continue its journey with dark mode.”
Twitter’s gradual rebranding as X is progressing. The company revealed its new name and logo to users on the Android application last night. It is expected that the iOS application will undergo a similar renewal process soon.

The new platform, described as “the application of everything” by Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino, garnered mixed reactions from some users. Elon Musk, in a statement on his Twitter account, stated, “This platform will soon have only a dark mode. Dark mode provides a better experience in every aspect.”

This sparked a debate, as some individuals argued that it might be more difficult to read light-colored text on a black background. Many people still want the option of a light-colored theme, even if X defaults to dark mode for its new design identity.
Currently, Twitter offers several background options based on user preferences: light mode, dim mode with a dark blue/gray background, and dark mode called lights out. According to Musk’s statement, dim mode and light mode options will soon be removed from the platform.
