Netflix, which has recently been on the agenda with its password sharing ban, may be reviewing some of its popular series. The Witcher series, which was first released in 2019 and received great acclaim with its first two seasons, is at the center of criticism with its third season.
Netflix viewers are targeting The Witcher season 3
Witcher season 3, which premiered at the end of June, does not seem to have been well received by audiences. Although it received 77 percent approval from professional critics on Rotten Tomatoes, the audience score is a very low 22 percent.
In social media posts, hundreds of viewers stated that they watched a third season that was not worthy of the first two seasons. In the posts, it was emphasized that the 3rd season was prepared both boring and uninteresting. Some users even asked for the series to be canceled.
Critics complained that the new season had a complex storytelling and also that the script was poorly written. Some viewers also criticized the show for changing events from the books and plays. However, the season was loved for its battles, costumes and political events.
Despite viewer backlash, The Witcher remained one of Netflix’s most-watched series, ranking number one for the week ending July 30. The third season was also the last season for the series’ lead actor Henry Cavill. Liam Hemsworth will play the character of Geralt in the new seasons.
