MediaTek made a difference in the flagship market last year with its Dimensity 9200 processor. The processor, which competed with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, is now preparing to be replaced by 9300. However, according to a new leak, the Dimensity 9300 processor has started to give MediaTek a serious headache due to some of its features. According to this, there is a possibility that the Dimensity 9300 processor may face significant heating problems.
MediaTek Dimensity 9300’s heating problem
As you know, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 processor has a different core arrangement of 4+4, which has not been tried so far. Accordingly, the processor has 4 high performance X4 super large cores. These cores will have a processing power of 3 GHz.
The other four cores in the processor will come with high-performance A720. The processing power of these cores is 2 GHz. However, it should be said here that MediaTek is waiting for Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 data for official frequency data.
However, this high-performance core structure was not very good for 9300. According to the information revealed according to this, the processor has an extreme heating problem.
Indeed, these concerns arose when this interesting core structure was revealed among the Dimensity 9300 features. As you know, mobile processor designers like Snapdragon, Apple and Samsung include two low-performance cores because of these issues.
Generally, these cores are used at lower frequencies and for simple operations on smartphones. The processor thus heats up less and consumes much less energy.
According to the leak, high heat is not the only problem for the 9300. The processor is also rumored to cause problems such as humming, especially at high frequencies.
MediaTek will introduce the 9300 processor towards the end of 2023. However, there is a possibility that the schedule may be postponed after the Dimensity 9300 heating problem.
One option is for MediaTek to change the processor core structure. However, the processors have probably been produced and it seems unlikely to enter the production process again.
Predictions are that the frequency speeds of some cores in the processor will be reduced. It is not known if the Dimensity 9300 heating problem will decrease after this adjustment. However, it is curious how the processor performance will be affected.
