Apple, yesterday during its Wonderlust event, not only unveiled new products but also provided release dates for some operating systems. iOS 17 will be released on September 18, while macOS Sonoma will be available on September 26. However, following this information, Apple released the iOS 17 RC (Release Candidate) version, which is likely to be the final version of iOS 17 unless there are any last-minute changes.
iOS 17 RC (Release Candidate) version has been released
If you’re not a content creator or an extreme user, you’ve probably never considered installing beta software on your daily phone. After all, such software can be unstable, and if your daily device has a beta version, you might not have access to the applications you need. However, Apple has wrapped up beta versions and released the RC (Release Candidate) version of iOS 17 and iPadOS 17.
iOS 17 and iPadOS 17’s RC (Release Candidate) versions are potential “Release Candidates,” meaning if there are no significant issues, these will be the final versions of the two operating systems. This means you can have the latest iOS version running on your iPhone before most of your friends, as long as you’re willing to wait until September 18, as Apple has stated.
As mentioned before, beta versions may not reflect all the features of the operating system, and new features can be added in future releases. With this new release, there’s a new feature as well. Over 20 new ringtones and alert sounds have been added to the devices. This marks the first time Apple has introduced multiple new ringtones for iOS since the release of iOS 7 in 2013.

To install iOS 17 RC, click on this link. Click on the “Sign Up” option and log in using your Apple ID. Then, on your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Software Update, and here you should see the option to install iOS 17 Beta. Apple has also released the RC versions of watchOS 10, tvOS 17, and macOS Sonoma alongside iOS 17 RC.
Of course, despite this, you can choose to wait for the final release. After all, the iOS 17 final version will be available to all users on September 18th, and macOS Sonoma will meet users on September 26th. The decision is up to you.
