But it had a very important shortcoming. Quoting could not be done on the web side and retweeting could not be done in Twitter language. Although Musk also removed the retweet feature on X.

Adam Mosseri announced the good news on Thursday. You will be able to use quote posts on the web starting this week. So how can we use this feature? To quote a post, you have to click on the two arrows icon. Then simply click on the “quote” option.

Mosseri also gave another good news for Threads users on mobile. He said that users can follow a thread and receive notifications about it. Apparently, this feature is only available for Android devices. There is no announcement for iOS yet.

These may seem like small steps. But even small features can help revitalize Threads. In this way, it helps make it feel like a viable alternative to X (formerly Twitter).
