Activision made an unexpected announcement for its free-to-play battle royale game Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Announced for 2023 and the registration process started in the Play Store, the game announced that its global launch has been postponed.
Call of Duty Warzone Mobile delayed until spring 2024
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile began testing in select countries earlier this year. The global launch was expected to begin on November 1st and be available worldwide. However, new news from Activision has upset those waiting for the free battle royale game.
Activision said in a statement that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will be released in the spring of 2024. Again, it should be underlined that no specific launch date was given.
“We have decided to move the worldwide launch of Warzone Mobile to 2024 in order to continue to improve the overall experience and develop the game,” said an Activision spokesperson. More than 45 million people have now registered for the game.
Following testing in select regions, Activision has provided some updates to Warzone Mobile. These included graphical optimizations, changes to menus and the addition of new multiplayer modes. In addition, with the global launch, the Verdansk and Rebirth Island maps from Warzone have been added to the game.
The new production will bring Warzone from PC and console to mobile devices. Those who pre-registered before the launch will receive in-game items.
