Israeli army imitates Russian tanks! Cope Cage armors are now available!

As you can imagine, new technologies emerged during many wars. Perhaps the most intense period of military technology was the Cold War years. Many frightening experiments, war technologies promoted as killing machines, etc. In addition to these developments, the space race was also taking place.

Although wars today have started to rely on combat and air force power again, elements such as tanks and armored vehicles are also of great importance. Using these tools in the most efficient and reliable way constitutes the main elements of states’ research on war.

In the Russia-Ukraine war, we actually started to see new and unknown land elements. However, we also saw that the “giving up on the classics” mode could also be effective on combat vehicles. We can give “cope cage” armor as an example. We saw this armor technology, which is very old and actually difficult to use today, on Russian tanks.

These armors, called cope cages, are worn on tanks for the safety of personnel using weapons. These elements, which are not resistant to rockets and missiles fired from UAVs or anti-tank guns, are today mostly used to prevent kamikaze and mini-armed drone attacks. The cope cage armors we see on Russian tanks in Ukraine are currently also used by Israel.

Israel has installed these armors on its tanks in the Palestinian region. Hamas generally uses PG-7VR rocket-propelled RPG rounds fired by UAVs. These bullets have the potential to defeat the armor called cope cage.
