Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC offers 50% faster GPU performance
Qualcomm announced that the chipset has a similar 1+3+4 architecture, as the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, which was launched about a year ago. However, the newest chipset offers a better performance, especially in GPU. When we look at the announcements, we can see that the latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC offers over 50% faster GPU performance than its predecessor.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset has 1x 2.63GHz ARM Cortex-A715 prime core, 3x 2.4GHz Cortex-A715, and 4x 1.8GHz Cortex-A510 efficiency CPU cores. Additionally, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 comes with 15% improvements in CPU performance compared to 7 Gen 1.
Moreover, the company explains that the Qualcomm AI Engine offers 60% better AI performance per watt. Thanks to this engine, the newest chipset becomes the most powerful mid-range chipset compared to its predecessors. Also, it has a 12-bit Triple ISP with support for up to 200MP photo capture.
Qualcomm has said that the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 platform will be used by major phone makers like HONOR and vivo, and the first device with this technology is set to be revealed this month. HUAWEI CEO Richard Yu has stated that the HONOR X100, featuring the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip, will be unveiled on November 23rd.
