Whatsapp announced on its official blog that it has introduced the ability to send voice messages that disappear after being viewed once. In today’s world where privacy is more important every day, this feature coming to Whatsapp seems to have made many users happy.
Whatsapp has a voice message feature that disappears after being viewed once
Whatsapp introduced View Once for photos and videos in 2021 to increase privacy. The messaging app has now expanded this feature a little more and included voice messages. Now, when you select and send the View Once option for the voice message you have sent, your message will disappear after the other party listens to the message.
Voice messages that will disappear after being viewed once are indicated with the phrase “one-time”. This will make it safer for you to send voicemail messages that are important to you. For example, if you are sending your credit card information or other critical information as a voice message, this feature will be useful.
How to send a WhatsApp lost voice message?
- Open the chat screen you want to send a message.
- Press and hold the Microphone icon in the bottom right corner and drag it to the Lock icon.
- After finishing your conversation, tap the (1) icon. When the (1) icon turns green, it means the message is set as a disappearing message.
A voice message that disappears after being viewed once is deleted after the other party listens to the message. The voice message is not saved on the other party’s phone. However, note that the other party can record your voice with another phone or recorder. However, the lost voice message cannot be forwarded to other people, saved, shared or starred. The lost voice message you send or receive is automatically deleted if it is not listened to for 14 days.
