Thirty years later, the company is making a major change to the keyboard, removing the menu key and introducing the Copilot key. The Copilot AI robot can now be quickly launched by pressing this key.

Microsoft has notified partners and OEMs to include the Copilot key on the keyboard of Windows laptops starting later this month. The Copilot key will also be included on upcoming Surface devices. The Copilot key will be positioned next to the Alt key, which is located to the right of the spacebar on the keyboard, replacing the menu key. This means that the Copilot tool is here to stay and that AI features will become more common in the future.
