NetherRealm has released the first gameplay trailer for Homelander from The Boys for Mortal Kombat 1. No release date has been set yet, but yesterday the company released the first gameplay trailer for the character.
Mortal Kombat 1 Homelander gameplay trailer
The trailer, which you can watch below, offers a glimpse of the upcoming DLC character’s gameplay. Those who have seen The Boys will recognize Homelander’s superpower and vision of heat, even though the trailer is less than a minute long.
NetherRealm kicked off the trailer with The Boys mise-en-scene. Homelander, the baby, is drinking milk from his bottle in the Mortal Kombat 1 universe. Those who watched The Boys will remember this scene.
Anthony Starr, the actor who played Homelander in The Boys Prime Video series, confirmed that he will not be voicing Homelander in MK1, but he approved the character portrayal. Still, the character’s voiceover sounds pretty good.
Some Mortal Kombat and The Boys fans praised the character’s design in the first trailer, with many noting that they are no longer upset that Starr will not be voicing Homelander in MK1.
Coming a few days after the release of The Boys season 4 trailer, this trailer shows that they’ve already got the wind ahead of them. It could be a successful move in terms of Mortal Kombat 1’s sales strategy. Season 4 of the series will premiere on June 14th, by the way.
Homelander is one of six DLC characters in the Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack, including Incincible’s Omni-Man and returning character Quan-Chi. Omni-Man is currently in the game. No release date has yet been announced for Homelander.
