Subaru Corporation, in a groundbreaking partnership with AMD, has announced their collaborative effort to enhance the EyeSight Driver Assist Technology with advanced artificial intelligence capabilities. This initiative is part of Subaru’s ambitious goal to achieve zero traffic-related fatalities by 2030.

The collaboration will leverage AMD’s recently launched Versal™ AI Edge Series Gen 2 adaptive SoC (System-on-Chip) technology. This cutting-edge tech aims to deliver high-performance AI inference capabilities at a low cost and with ultra-low latency. The enhanced SoC will significantly improve the detection and processing abilities of Subaru’s well-established stereo camera system, with plans to integrate the technology into the next generation of the EyeSight system scheduled for release in the latter half of the 2020s.

AMD is getting ready for the AI race!

Subaru’s EyeSight system, known for features like adaptive speed control and collision prevention braking, is a standard offering in all Forester and Crosstrek models. With the integration of AI, Subaru is poised to set new standards in vehicle safety, ultimately reducing the risk of accidents and moving closer to a future with no traffic deaths.
