Google has delighted former G Suite (now Google Workspace) users by offering free extra storage space. This rare move in the tech world has greatly pleased long-time users of their free accounts. Are you among these lucky users?
Google Offers Free Extra Storage Space to Old G Suite Users
When Google rebranded G Suite as Workspace in 2020, they announced that all users would need to switch to new paid subscription plans. However, loyal users of the free accounts voiced their concerns, and Google decided to keep these accounts free for personal use.
Until June 2022, Google allowed old users to add individual storage space. Last week, users who had paid for extra space received an email from Google stating that their storage subscriptions had been canceled and their final payments refunded. The best part is that users’ storage limits remained unchanged, and no further action was required on their part.
Google spokesperson Jenny Thomson confirmed that these users would retain their extra storage space and could continue using their existing accounts. She also noted that this change applies to users who switched to Workspace accounts and managed individual storage through Google Play.
As of now, users with old Google G Suite accounts can continue using their accounts with the bonus of free storage space. Whether Google will change this decision in the future is uncertain, but for now, it appears to be a great deal for these users.
Loyal users of free G Suite accounts are now rewarded with extra storage space. Google’s move has generated significant satisfaction among users and has been a pleasant surprise in the tech world.
