Continuing its regular monthly security updates, Samsung has begun rolling out the security package for June 2024. Samsung, which shared the details of the update first, has also announced three models that will no longer receive updates after this one. The news that these popular entry-level and mid-range models will no longer receive updates is likely to disappoint users. Here are the three Samsung Galaxy phones that will no longer receive updates…
Samsung Galaxy A51 5G, A41, and M01 Will No Longer Receive Updates
Samsung, which has not yet completed the rollout of the May 2024 security package for entry-level and mid-range phones and tablets, has already shared the details of the June 2024 update. The June 2024 update for Galaxy devices fixes 52 high-priority and 1 critical security vulnerabilities.
According to Samsung’s stated rules, three of the devices that have been receiving updates will now bid farewell to new updates. The Samsung Galaxy A51 5G, Galaxy A41, and Galaxy M01 models, which were released between March and June 2020, will no longer receive updates.
Over the past four years, the Galaxy A51 5G has received three major Android operating system updates, while the Galaxy A41 and M01 have received two major Android system updates. Unfortunately, these devices, which have received almost all security updates so far, will no longer receive updates. However, Samsung is known to issue updates for older devices when significant security vulnerabilities are discovered. Therefore, it is still possible for updates to be released suddenly.
