Apple has launched its annual Back to School promotion, offering gift cards of up to $150 when buying select Macs and iPads. However, technology experts say shoppers can find significantly better deals directly from third-party Apple resellers.
Apple Back to School promotion
For the 2024 Back to School season, Apple is providing gift cards ranging from $100 to $150 for purchases of specific MacBook, iMac, Mac mini and iPad models. The company is also taking 20% off AppleCare+ extended warranty plans.
While the gift cards and AppleCare+ discounts are enticing, many resellers like B&H Photo and Amazon currently have deeper discounts on the latest Macs and iPads. Some MacBook Pro and Air models can be had for over $500 less than Apple’s prices. Certain iPad Pro and iPad Air 6 models are also $100 below Apple’s direct prices.
An added bonus is that the reseller discounts are ongoing and do not require users to be students. In comparison, the deals from Apple are only valid for a limited time and are mostly aimed at educational buyers.
Technology experts advise shoppers to check price comparison sites for the latest Apple product discounts from alternative retailers, as significant savings above Apple’s gift cards can be found. However, bargain hunters are warned that inventory may not last long on the hottest deals.
