TikTok continues to add new features to its platform to enrich the user experience. With the update announced on Monday, TikTok users will now be able to create group chats and use stickers in direct messages.
TikTok announces group chats and DM stickers feature
TikTok is known as an important platform, especially for sharing fun videos and ensuring fast communication between friends. However, with the new update, this communication goes even further. TikTok now offers its users the opportunity to create group chats. Up to 32 people can participate in group chats at the same time. For security purposes, young people aged 13-15 will not be able to use this feature.
In introducing this new feature, TikTok states that group chats encourage real-time interactions between friends, families and communities. Users can comment, react and chat while watching shared videos. Users will also have the option to mute and block other users within the chat and report messages or the entire chat when necessary.
Along with this major update, TikTok has also introduced a new feature for direct messages: stickers. Now users can create their own custom stickers through the TikTok Sticker Platform and use them in chats. This feature enables the TikTok community to communicate in a creative and fun way.
TikTok has also introduced another new feature, “Sound Search”, in recent weeks. This feature allows users to find a song by humming, singing or just playing it. However, Sound Search is currently only available to a limited group of users and it has not yet been announced in which regions it will be available.
