Technology is advancing every day. Now, you can control every device no matter where you are. With announcements from Samsung, Hyundai, and Kia, the companies have reached a new agreement. Thanks to this agreement, Samsung’s IoT (Internet of Things) platform, the SmartThings app, will be integrated into Hyundai and Kia vehicles. Here are the details…
Samsung, Hyundai, and Kia Make Control Easier
With the new agreement made today among the South Korean giants in Seoul, an official integration for Samsung’s SmartThings app has been established. Looking to strategically expand technology in future systems, Samsung, Hyundai, and Kia will connect their technologies.
With the new features, you will be able to control functions like air conditioning, entertainment systems, and fuel status through Galaxy phones. These features, already available in several brands, provide great convenience as they allow access to the vehicle without leaving home.
On the other hand, there is also a feature that allows you to control household appliances while inside the vehicle. This feature, called “From Car to Home,” enables you to control and activate smart home devices like air conditioning at home.
Additionally, during situations like forgetting where the vehicle is parked, theft, and other unexpected events, locations can be easily found through the Connected Car Service. The statement mentions:
“Hyundai Motor and Kia are preparing for the SDV era by anticipating various in-vehicle services. To this end, they are collaborating with Hyundai Motor Group’s global software center, 42dot, to develop a next-generation infotainment system and an open mobility ecosystem. This development aims to provide a user-centered vehicle environment by enhancing the connectivity of the infotainment system planned for introduction in 2026.”
