Meta unveiled its budget-friendly glasses to grow more in the AR/VR field. The new glasses, which will be called Meta Quest 3S, attracts great attention with a price starting from 300 dollars. What does Quest 3S, which will be available on October 15, offer?
Meta Quest 3S features
Priced at $299, the Quest 3S aims to offer an affordable entry point to VR headsets. Shipments begin today, with pre-orders opening on October 15. The Quest 3S retains most of the performance features of the series, but makes compromises in some areas.
Powered by the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip, it can run the same games and experiences as the Quest 3. It also includes the Quest 3’s Touch Plus controllers.
The resolution of Quest 3S, which uses the screens found in Quest 2, is lower than Quest 3. The field of view is also a bit narrower than Quest 3. In terms of design, Quest 3S differs from Quest 3 in the placement of the front cameras and the lack of a depth sensing camera. Battery life is slightly better at 2.5 hours compared to the Quest 3’s 2.2 hours.
With the release of the Quest 3S, Meta is discontinuing the Quest 2 and Quest Pro. These glasses will be available at discounted prices while current stocks last.
