Lara Croft’s classic adventures are being revived with Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered. Developed by Crystal Dynamics and Aspyr Media, the collection includes three major games that take up the series’ storyline since its debut on PlayStation. Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (1999), Tomb Raider: Chronicles (2000), and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness (2003) will be available in this collection.
When will Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered be released?
While these games are not considered the best examples of the series, they play an important role in Lara’s development and the series’ expanding scope. The Last Revelation takes Lara on an exciting adventure in Egypt, while Chronicles offers reimagined sections that shed light on her past. Despite struggling with technical issues at launch, Angel of Darkness attempted to bring the series to a more open-ended gameplay on PS2.
The remasters by Aspyr Media bring noticeable visual improvements, renewed controls, and options suitable for today’s platforms to all three games. The Last Revelation and Chronicles have been remastered with high-resolution textures for a clearer image.
Additional features include trophies/achievements that offer players new goals and a photo mode to immortalize Lara’s updated adventures.
Crystal Dynamics and Aspyr said that by remastering these important but overlooked Tomb Raider games, players will be given a glimpse into Lara’s early years and the changing aspects of the series.
Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered will meet players on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC platforms on February 14, 2025.
