The main reason for this will be the recycling and e-waste policies implemented in Europe.

For years, removing the iPhone’s batteries required special tools and repair kits due to the fact that they were glued to the device. This made battery replacement expensive for many users. Sources, on the other hand, report that the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models may adopt the battery technology used in the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus.
