Apple is preparing to solve a major problem that all smartphone users experience, specifically for iPhone. Although you could use third-party applications to see if the number calling you was actually a scammer or a legitimate platform, you couldn’t be sure if these applications were accessing your data. Apple is producing a radical solution for such calls.
This feature is coming to Apple iPhone in 2025!
Apple is preparing to take an important step against one of the biggest problems faced by iPhone users: spam and scam calls. The company will launch a new ‘Business Caller ID’ feature in 2025, allowing users to filter incoming calls more securely.
Businesses registered with Apple’s Business Connect system will be able to display their logos, names, and even relevant department information when calling customers. This will allow iPhone users to easily identify whether the incoming call is from a trusted source.
The system will be especially useful for corporate calls. For example, when you receive a call from your bank, the bank’s logo and which department is calling you will be clearly displayed. Calls without logos could be considered unwanted or suspicious.
However, the system has some limitations. First, this feature will only be available for corporate numbers. There will be no change for individual calls. Also, it may take time for small businesses to join the system. That said, Apple offering this service for free will likely encourage businesses to participate.
The exact launch date of the system is not yet clear, but it is expected to go live sometime in 2025. This development could set an example for other smartphone manufacturers to develop similar security measures.
