Xiaomi has attracted great attention with the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro models it recently introduced in China, but the curious wait for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the real flagship, continues. New leaks have revealed that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will come as an ambitious competitor, especially in camera hardware. The model, which competes head-to-head with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, will have cameras that attract attention with advanced zoom and large sensors.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra is ready to rival the Galaxy S25 Ultra with its camera features!
Xiaomi 15 Ultra will use a 50 MP resolution and 1/0.98-inch LYT900 sensor as the main camera. This sensor was also included in this year’s Xiaomi 14 Ultra model and manages to provide detailed photos with high resolution. Next to the main camera, there will be a 50 MP 1/2.76-inch S5KJN5 sensor placed under the 14mm ultra-wide-angle lens.
However, this is slightly smaller than the 1/2.51-inch ultra-wide-angle camera used in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which may result in a difference in low-light performance compared to its predecessor. In the Xiaomi 15 Ultra model, the real innovation is said to be on the zoom side.
The model continues to feature a 3x telephoto camera supported by a 50 MP IMX858 sensor. However, the changes made to the second zoom camera are noteworthy: Instead of the 1/2.51-inch 50 MP sensor and 120 mm lens in the previous model, a 1/1.4-inch 200 MP sensor and 100 mm lens are now used.
Although this change reduces the zoom range from 5x to 4x, the larger sensor should result in a noticeable improvement in photo quality. In other words, it can offer a strong alternative to the Galaxy S25 Ultra by improving performance in low light and detail.
The front camera uses an OV32B40 sensor with a resolution of 32 MP, providing high detail and color accuracy in selfies. With its powerful camera set, Xiaomi 15 Ultra is getting ready to offer a performance that can compete with the giants of the market such as Galaxy S25 Ultra, while becoming assertive especially in photography. Let’s see if the device can really deliver the performance promised by these leaks when it hits the market.
