We are entering a new era in artificial intelligence (AI) research. A research team working in collaboration with Google DeepMind has developed a system that can mimic human personalities in just two hours. While the results were surprising, they also showed how scary artificial intelligence has become. So how does the system work and what does it do?
Artificial intelligence can imitate 85% of human personality in just two hours
First, this artificial intelligence system analyzes the information gathered during in-depth interviews with individuals. After processing the data, it creates a “digital personality” that simulates the way a person responds and behaves. In tests, it was found that the system’s responses matched the real person’s responses 85% of the time. The success of the system was achieved as a result of the training process with a thousand volunteers. So what will this system do?
The new technology is said to be revolutionary, especially for sociological research. For example, this method is planned to replace traditional surveys. Accordingly, it is said to make data collection and analysis processes faster and more economical. In other words, it could make it possible to conduct more research to understand social trends or examine individual behavior patterns.
In addition, this artificial intelligence system can be used in many areas such as developing personal assistants, optimizing robot-human interactions and even creating simulations for training in professional fields. Researchers describe such AIs as “digital agents”. Unlike existing AI assistants, these agents can simulate much more complex and human-like behaviors.
However, by enabling them to operate in a more human-like manner, they are said to be able to greatly improve interaction in home and work environments. Meanwhile, the limits of this technology are currently still being explored. But it already gives a glimpse of how far AI can go to understand and recreate human behavior.
How do you think this kind of AI could impact human life? Is it beneficial or risky for technology to be able to mimic personality at such an advanced level? Don’t forget to share your comments.
