Marvel Rivals, the free-to-play game developed by NetEase Games, reached 10 million players worldwide within the first three days of its launch. This success has made it one of the most successful live service games of recent times.
Marvel Rivals reaches 10 million players in the first three days
Marvel Rivals launched at the same time as other notable titles such as Path of Exile 2, which reached over 500,000 concurrent players on Steam. However, despite this, the game still gained a significant audience with 480,990 players on its first day on Steam.
In a recent post, the developer studio said, “We’ve reached the incredible milestone of 10 million players worldwide in just 72 hours. Our sincere thanks to each and every one of you. Let’s ignite the battle together.”
Marvel Rivals is now available for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. While NetEase hasn’t revealed the breakdown of the number of players by platform, it’s safe to say that it has reached a large player base.
For those who don’t know, the game features 33 playable heroes from the Marvel Universe, divided into three categories – Vanguard, Duelist and Strategist – each offering a different play style. Additional heroes such as Blade, Ultron, Emma Frost, Jean Grey, Mr. Fantastic and Captain Marvel are coming soon.
