NVIDIA App makes performance worse instead of better!
While hardware’s impact on gaming performance is undeniable today, the way both AMD and Nvidia support this hardware and innovate on the software side has also become increasingly important. Recently, Nvidia’s new app, which aims to improve performance and was recently released to the public after its beta phase, has fallen short in initial tests.
Nvidia App Reduces Performance by 15%!
Replacing its GeForce Experience application, Nvidia’s new Nvidia App reportedly causes significant performance losses in certain games. Tests revealed that the application leads to FPS drops ranging from 2% to 15% in games such as Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Stalker 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Black Myth: Wukong.

Here are the standout test results:
Assassin’s Creed Mirage:
- 1080p Medium: 9% performance drop
- 1080p Ultra: 12% performance drop
- 1440p Ultra: 6% performance drop
Stalker 2:
- 1080p Medium: 6% performance drop
- 1080p Ultra: 6% performance drop
Black Myth: Wukong:
- 1080p Ultra: Up to 6% performance loss
Baldur’s Gate 3:
- DirectX 11: 3%-4% performance drop
Nvidia once again unseats Intel!
The reasons behind these performance drops with the Nvidia App are not yet fully clear. It has been noted that the drops are more noticeable in CPU-dependent scenarios and when testing with high-performance GPUs. For example, tests conducted with the RTX 4060 graphics card showed performance drops ranging from 2% to 12% on average. Meanwhile, some users reported that the loss climbed up to 15% on cards like the RTX 4080 Super.
It is expected that Nvidia will address this issue in the near future.
