One of the most striking innovations of the new Model Y is the changes made to the headlight design. The dual LED headlights are connected by a thin strip of light. This design is reminiscent of Tesla’s Cybertruck model. At the rear, the C-shaped taillights are joined by a light bar, similar to those seen on the facelifted Model 3.
Tesla’s new aerodynamic design will be effective in increasing the efficiency of the vehicle. In particular, aerodynamic optimizations are expected to reduce energy consumption and increase range. There are also important innovations in the interior of the Model Y. These innovations include:
- A new steering wheel design,
- Removal of the traditional gear selector and control via steering wheel or touchscreen,

It is also stated that these changes are compatible with the updates made to the recently renewed Model 3.
