The world’s first explosion-proof humanoid robot: Tian Kui 1

Let’s first take a look at the company that designed it. Founded in 2011, Tiangchuang Robotics is a technology company that develops mobile intelligent robots for use in harsh industrial environments. The company has extensive experience in designing robots for safe operation in hazardous conditions such as high temperatures, high humidity, strong magnetic fields and explosive environments. These experiences played a critical role in the development of Tian Kui 1. Here are the technical specifications of Tian Kui 1:

• Explosion-proof certification: The Tian Kui series has been certified as the world’s first IICT6 class explosion-proof humanoid robot. The movement structures, power system and electrical connections have undergone special treatment in accordance with this standard.

• Weight capacity: 25 kg
• Degree of freedom: 30 points
• Operating time: 5 hours
• Dual-arm operation: The robot can meet high torque and high load requirements with its dual arm. It can also carry a weight of 15 kg horizontally with a single arm.

Working principle and uses

Tian Kui 1 is equipped with a wheeled chassis and works with a combination of remote control + pre-programmed tasks. The user can control the robot from a driving booth and perform precise operations using a controller with force feedback.

Furthermore, the robot is pre-trained for specific tasks. For example, tasks such as button closing, valve turning and hole drilling can be easily completed by the operator in the driving booth at the push of a button. Tiangchuang Robotics plans to develop Tian Kui 1 further.
