While Apple continues to develop the iOS operating system continuously, the company also makes restrictions on the old with the updates released by the company. The technology giant, which offered many improvements with iOS 18.3 released last week, stopped signing the iOS 18.2.1 version a week after making the update downloadable. So what does this mean? Here are the details.
Switching from iOS 18.3 to iOS 18.2.1 is no longer possible
With the updates made by Apple, the signing of iOS 18.2.1 was stopped one week after the release of iOS 18.3. This means that users who download the latest update will no longer be able to downgrade their iPhone or iPad. While this happened for every version, it was the same for iOS 18.2.1.

iOS 18.2.1, released on 6 January, came with important bug fixes, but there is not much information about the update since Apple does not specify exactly what has been changed.
The new iOS 18.3 update was announced as a more comprehensive version. Released on 27 January, the update comes with Apple Intelligence-oriented features as well as security improvements.
According to Apple’s release notes, the 18.3 update fixes a vulnerability in AirPlay that allows attackers to create ‘unexpected system termination or corrupt process memory’. In addition, artificial intelligence features offered with Apple Intelligence are now enabled by default.
However, as mentioned, if you encounter errors in iOS 18.3, it is no longer possible to return to iOS 18.2.1.
