The recent spate of layoffs in the game industry has caused controversy among the studios supported by NetEase. While some studios have retained their development teams, others are facing a future full of uncertainty. Accordingly, Star Wars Eclipse developer Quantiq Dream was also affected by this situation.
Does Star Wars Eclipse continue to be developed?
Star Wars Eclipse, which dropped like a bomb in the game world last year, has been almost silent since that day. The game, which signalled that we will embark on a brand new adventure in the Star Wars universe with its promotional video, started to cause concern after the developments.

While speculation circulated that Star Wars Eclipse was cancelled, the layoffs at NetEase further fuelled these rumours. However, statements from Quantic Dream CEO Guillaume de Fondaumière calmed concerns.
Fondaumière stated that the problems experienced by NetEase did not affect the development process of Eclipse and that the game was not cancelled. Although very little information has been shared about the game so far, it is thought that the game will be similar to Quantic Dream’s previous productions.
In this context, it is stated that it will be an action-adventure game with branching storytelling. Players will be able to control multiple characters and change the course of the story with their decisions. In terms of story, it will take us to the High Republic period.
Different games are also being developed in the Star Wars series. Allegedly, another game will officially debut about three years after Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games announced the new Star Wars RTS production. Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Respawn announced that they will realise this project by collaborating with Bit Reactor.
