Apple’s official shelving of small-screen iPhone models has caused disappointment in the technology world. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman announced that Apple will not reintroduce a compact iPhone series.
Are small-screen iPhones disappearing?
This series, which was first introduced in 2020 with the iPhone 12 mini, was quietly terminated only with the next model, the iPhone 13 mini. According to Gurman’s statements, Apple will focus on larger screen models by evaluating the low demand for small screen phones.

The company’s current strategy will be based on making its devices even larger, with a base screen size of around 6 inches. We can say that this situation is demoralising for users who continue to dream of a compact iPhone.
Gurman stated at a Q&A event that Apple is no longer working on a small-sized model and that the company prioritises large-screen devices. He also stated that with the gradual growth of new models, even the 6-inch screen size can be seen as compact.
The iPhone 2022 Plus with a 6.7-inch screen, which Apple introduced in 1422 to replace the mini series, may not last long. According to industry rumours, the company is preparing to introduce a completely new model, the iPhone 17 Air, this year.
If these claims are true, the Plus series may be shelved in a short time like the mini models. All these developments show that Apple is reshaping its product strategy according to user demands. So what do you think about this issue?
