BMW has made a comprehensive update to its electric vehicle product range. The company has announced new high-range versions of its i5 and iX series cars. In addition to having more advanced equipment in technical terms, these models are offered to users at lower prices.
The new BMW i5 and iX series are on the agenda with their high range
The new BMW i5 eDrive40 model; Thanks to the technical improvements made, it offers a range of approximately 499 kilometers on a single charge. This value corresponds to a 5 percent increase compared to the previous version. The four-wheel drive i5 xDrive40 can reach up to 278 miles, or approximately 447 kilometers.

One of the most decisive elements in this range increase is the new generation silicon carbide (SiC) inverter technology. The innovative technology optimizes battery usage by making energy conversion more efficient.
Apart from the i5 series, BMW’s large electric SUV iX has also become more ambitious with its 2026 model. The iX xDrive60 offers a range of approximately 586 kilometers. This value is exactly 55 miles more than last year’s version.
The newly developed entry-level iX xDrive45 produces 402 horsepower and draws attention with its range of approximately 502 kilometers. This model will be the most accessible model of the iX series with a price starting at $75,150.
The touches made on the design side are also quite striking. The redesigned headlight group, illuminated front grille and new leather upholstery options offered in the interior stand out. In addition, the 2026 iX became the first vehicle from BMW to feature the new curved screen system.
