Samsung may be planning a significant change for 2026 after the newly introduced Galaxy S25 Edge model. According to the latest information, the company will not include the “Plus” model in the Galaxy S26 series that it will launch next year. Instead, it will continue the series in a triple structure with the Galaxy S26 Edge model.
Galaxy S26 Edge will replace Galaxy S26 Plus
According to sources close to Samsung, the company has already started the development process of the Galaxy S26 series. It is stated that three different variants are being worked on in the first stage: “basic”, “Edge” and “Ultra”. This strengthens the possibility that the Galaxy S26 Edge model will directly replace the Plus series.

The main reason behind the decision was the low sales performance of the Plus models. It is seen that Samsung allocated only 6.7 million of the 37.7 million sales target it set for the Galaxy S series last year for the Galaxy S25 Plus model.
The Ultra model has a much larger share with 17.4 million units, while the basic model has 13.6 million units. This data shows that interest in the company’s Plus model has decreased. We can say that Samsung’s rival Apple is following a similar strategy.
The company is preparing to end the iPhone Plus series with the iPhone 17 Air model it will introduce this year. These developments show that companies tend to turn to more characteristic and eye-catching models instead of large-screen models.
However, the existence of the Galaxy S26 Edge has not been officially confirmed for now. So what do you think about this? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
