Netflix has announced that its ad-supported subscription model has seen significant growth. The package, which was launched in 2022, has reached 94 million users worldwide by 2025. The ad-supported subscription is currently offered for $7.99 per month in the US.
Netflix’s ad-supported subscription is in high demand
Netflix states that this system has been adopted by users and that content supported by ads increases interaction on the platform. Company executive Amy Reinhard announced that users who subscribe to the ad-supported package spend an average of 41 hours per month on the platform.

With this growth, the company is preparing to launch new ad formats. Innovations such as interactive ads, which began testing in Canada last year and became active in the US, will reach wider audiences by the end of 2026.
Netflix offers these ads entirely through its own advertising platform and plans to activate this infrastructure in 12 more countries by June 2025. The company no longer shares its total subscriber numbers each quarter; however, in a statement made in January, it was reported that there were over 300 million active subscribers worldwide. The plan with ads is an increasing portion of this number.
The plan with ads is not currently available in Turkey. There are only three different packages offered in our country. Netflix’s basic package is priced at 149.99 TL, its standard package is priced at 229.99 TL and its special package is priced at 299.99 TL.
