As the release date of Grand Theft Auto VI approaches, it is becoming clear which platforms the game will be on. However, recent developments paint a picture contrary to expectations for Nintendo Switch 2 users. The highly anticipated GTA 6 will be released only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms on May 26, 2026.
GTA 6 may not be released for Nintendo Switch 2
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick also made important evaluations about Nintendo’s next-generation console Switch 2 at the company’s financial report meeting. Zelnick stated that not every game is guaranteed to be released on every platform. This statement was interpreted as a strong sign that GTA 6 will not be released for Switch 2.

Zelnick also emphasized that not every game may be suitable for every device. This approach becomes even more evident when it comes to games with extremely high hardware requirements like GTA 6. The game’s next-generation visuals have raised questions about whether it will be technically compatible with the Switch 2’s hardware.
On the other hand, the PC version of GTA 6 is expected to be released later, as in previous games. Although the possibility of a special port for Nintendo Switch 2 is still on the table in the future, there is no concrete information in this direction at the moment.
