Samsung’s One UI 7 update, which was launched in April 2025, has brought serious complaints, especially about battery performance, while continuing to be offered to users on a wide range of devices. Many Galaxy models that received the update experience a problem with rapid battery drain.
Samsung offered methods to increase One UI 7’s battery efficiency
Samsung did not release a software update for this problem, but the company offered some solutions to users through its moderators. In the statement made on the company’s official forum, a list of eight steps was shared to improve battery life.

First, users are advised to optimize their phones with the “Optimize Now” option via Settings > Device Care. This step helps improve overall performance by checking the device’s memory, storage, and battery.
Weak network signals are also among the factors that quickly drain the battery. Samsung states that users should avoid using their phones in areas with low signal as much as possible. Since screen brightness is a factor that directly affects battery consumption, especially on AMOLED panels, it is recommended to reduce the screen brightness or enable automatic brightness mode.
In addition, setting the screen timeout to the lowest value can be another step that can extend battery life. It is possible to access detailed data on battery usage from the Device Maintenance section. In this section, the applications that consume the most battery are listed, and if necessary, it is recommended to update these applications or limit their operation in the background.
However; manually closing the applications that remain open in the background can significantly reduce battery consumption. Turning off the automatic sync feature from the notification panel was also among Samsung’s recommendations.
In cases where the battery problem persists despite all these steps, a factory reset is recommended as a last resort. Since this process will delete all data on the phone, it is stated that data backup should be made beforehand.
