NVIDIA’s RTX 3080 Ti 20GB model, which was planned to be included in the GeForce RTX 30 series but was not officially released, has surfaced. This special version, which has 20 GB of VRAM, found a buyer on eBay for $1,999.99.
The canceled RTX 3080 Ti 20GB has emerged
The card was offered with NVIDIA’s Founders Edition design and was marked “not for sale – for development purposes only”. This statement indicates that the model in question is an engineering prototype, not a commercial product.

The RTX 3080 Ti 20GB model technically has the same architecture as the previously released 12GB version. The card still uses a 384-bit memory bus. This structure shows that there is no change in bandwidth despite the increase in memory amount.
NVIDIA’s hardware preparations before shelving this model were confirmed by the availability of a physically ready-to-sell version of the card. Information about the 20GB version of the RTX 3080 Ti had actually come to the fore in previous periods through various manufacturer leaks.
Documents have emerged that brands such as Gigabyte, ASUS and MSI were working on this configuration. It is also known that a 20GB card from MSI’s SUPRIM X series went on sale in Australia for a short time in 2023.
However, the fact that the Founders Edition version has not yet appeared clearly shows that NVIDIA has made the product ready for launch with this sale. The company has not made any statement about the cancellation of the card to date.
However, the closeness in performance with the RTX 3090 with 24GB VRAM and the need to prevent complexity in the product line are among the possible reasons behind this decision. Although the RTX 3080 Ti stood out with its 20GB memory capacity, it was among the rare models that were abandoned for commercial launch during the production process.
