Samsung plans to offer new health features to its Galaxy Watch series to its users with a paid subscription model. While the Samsung Health app has offered basic functions for free so far, advanced health data and analysis are on the agenda with the One UI 8 Watch update as part of a premium subscription.
Galaxy Watch will offer some health features for a fee
This change aims to provide Samsung users with more detailed and personalized health tracking. The One UI 8 Watch update brings four new health features: Antioxidant Index, Bedtime Guidance, Running Coach, and Vascular Load.

The update will reach many devices up to the Galaxy Watch 5 and earlier models. However, the Antioxidant Index and Vascular Load features will only be available on the Galaxy Watch Ultra models. Running Coach will be accessible for Galaxy Watch 7 and later devices.
Samsung will leave the basic health and fitness tracking features free for all users. However, the new, advanced health features are planned to be included in the subscription system. No official statement has yet been made regarding when the subscription model will start, its pricing, and its scope.
It is also not clear which devices will be affected by this subscription. Samsung’s move will provide a new option for users who want more personalized and in-depth health tracking on wearable devices.
